Good Karma

dream ~ inspirelilpic3

Good Karma is about doing good for others for the sake of doing good and being kind. The reward is the satisfaction we get from helping someone else.  By doing good for someone out of love and kindness we connect to our own authentic truth.  It feels so good to connect and share!

Karma yoga can be as simple as helping an elderly neighbor, volunteering at a shelter, watching your friend’s kids or saying a prayer for someone.
Let’s celebrate the good actions of those around us!  If you know of someone who has given without attachment to the outcome, simply email Jane( jane@hagoyoga.com) and she will post  their efforts on this website.

Recognize Mike Dixon and Craig Youker for helping a neighbor remodel their basement.  Thank you for many hours of work to transform the space!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks to neighbors who share their food and feed others on the block!

Thanks to good friends who listen when an ear is needed, give advice when asked, cry when is appropriate, and are strong when I cannot be.

Thank you to all the people who brought food to share after beach yoga each week and especially this last week of yoga on the beach.  The Mayan Stew Recipe is listed below:

Mayan Stew
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup bell peppers (I chop 1 of each color)
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 16oz. can diced tomatoes undrained (or fresh from the garden, use the juice)
1 can soy beans (you can also use northern or black)
1 can golden (or white) hominy, undrained
1 pkg taco seasoning (or same fresh ingredients/herbs from your garden)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground oregano
1 cup vegetable broth (or more depending on how soupy you like)
Pinch of cinnamon

Additional optional items
Green chiles to your taste liking
Shrimp
Chicken
Rice or wild rice
Okra
Baby corn or corn kernels
Tabasco

Saute onions and bell peppers in the olive oil for about 4 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients.  Bring to a rapid boil and simmer about 10 – 15 minutes.  Top with sour cream or yogurt.
Serve with tortilla chips or bread.
